RO: Probabil că ai văzut deja pe Google acea imagine celebră cu pontonul și bărcile din lemn perfect aliniate. Ei bine, aceea nu este doar o fotografie frumoasă, ci chiar simbolul Lacului Braies.
Apa avea o nuanță de turcoaz atât de intensă încât părea ireală, iar munții stâncoși din jur se reflectau în oglinda lacului ca într-un tablou pictat cu grijă. Înțelegi imediat de ce i se spune „perla Dolomiților”: e unul dintre acele locuri care te lasă fără cuvinte încă din primele clipe.

Cum ajungi la Lacul Braies
Lacul se găsește la o altitudine de 1.496 m, în Parcul Natural Fanes-Sennes-Braies, în apropiere de Dobbiaco (Toblach), la aproximativ 20 de minute cu mașina.
Ai două variante pentru a ajunge:
- Cu mașina – accesul este posibil tot timpul anului, dar în sezonul de vârf (iulie–septembrie) circulația este restricționată în anumite intervale orare pentru a proteja zona. Parcările sunt bine organizate, dar se ocupă rapid, așa că este recomandat să îți rezervi din timp un loc. Găsești detalii aici.
- Cu transportul public – autobuzele regionale fac legătura între principalele localități din Tirolul de Sud și lac, o opțiune comodă și ecologică.
2. Ce face Lacul Braies atât de special
Ce m-a cucerit pe mine a fost culoarea apei, care se schimbă de la smarald la albastru intens în funcție de lumină. Într-o parte vezi reflexia perfectă a muntelui Croda del Becco (2.810 m), iar în alta păduri de un verde dens. Totul arată ca într-un tablou.
Și apoi e pontonul acela cu bărci din lemn – probabil cel mai fotografiat loc din Dolomiți. Da, este turistic, dar sincer, merită.
Am aflat și o legendă simpatică: se spune că lacul ar fi poarta către „Regatul Fanes”, o lume magică din mitologia locală. Și când privești în adâncul apei, parcă nu ți se mai pare doar o poveste.
3. Ce poți să faci la Lacul Braies
Drumeție în jurul lacului: traseul are în jur de 4 kilometri și poate fi parcurs chiar și de către copii.
Sute de fotografii: noi am ajuns dimineața devreme și, sincer, a fost foarte bine așa. Chiar dacă a fost destul de rece (erau 8 grade Celsius), nu erau mulți turiști și nici nu am așteptat ca să închieriem o barcă.
Plimbarea cu barca: am plătit 55 € pentru 45 de minute. Preț piperat, dar plimbarea chiar a fost deosebită.
Drumeții mai lungi: pentru cei care vor aventură, Braies e punctul de plecare al traseului Alta Via 1. Eu doar am visat la el – poate data viitoare.
Sfaturi din experiența mea
- Mergi devreme – la ora 09:00 dimineața lacul era aproape gol. După ora 10:00 începe să se aglomereze.
- Fii pregătit pentru munte – chiar și vara, ia cu tine o jachetă. Vremea se poate schimba rapid.
- Respectă locul – e un parc natural protejat, așa că nu arunca gunoaie și rămâi pe traseele marcate.
Nu uita să mă urmărești și pe Facebook și Instagram, unde postez destul de des.

The water was such an intense turquoise hue that it seemed unreal, and the surrounding rocky mountains were reflected in the lake’s mirror like a carefully crafted painting. You immediately understand why it’s called the “pearl of the Dolomites”: it’s one of those places that leaves you speechless from the first moment.

How to get to Lake Braies
The lake is located at an altitude of 1,496 m, in the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park, near Dobbiaco (Toblach), about 20 minutes by car.
You have two options to get there:
- By car – access is possible all year round, but during the high season (July–September) traffic is restricted during certain hours to protect the area. The parking lots are well organized, but they fill up quickly, so it is recommended to reserve a spot in advance. You can find details here.
- By public transport – regional buses connect the main towns in South Tyrol to the lake, a convenient and ecological option.
2. What makes Lake Braies so special
What won me over was the color of the water, which changes from emerald to intense blue depending on the light. On one side you see the perfect reflection of the Croda del Becco mountain (2,810 m), and on the other dense green forests. Everything looks like a painting.
And then there is that pontoon with wooden boats – probably the most photographed place in the Dolomites. Yes, it is touristy, but honestly, it is worth it.
I also learned about a nice legend: it is said that the lake is the gateway to the „Kingdom of Fanes,” a magical world from local mythology. And when you look into the depths of the water, it doesn’t seem like just a story anymore.
3. What to do at Lake Braies
Hiking around the lake: the route is about 4 kilometers long and can be done even by children.
Hundreds of photos: we arrived early in the morning and, honestly, it was very good that we did. Even though it was quite cold (it was 8 degrees Celsius), there were not many tourists and we didn’t even wait to rent a boat.
Boat ride: we paid €55 for 45 minutes. A bit pricey, but the ride was really special.
Longer hikes: for those who want adventure, Braies is the starting point of the Alta Via 1 route. I only dreamed of it – maybe next time.
