Moscheea-catedrală din Córdoba, cunoscută și sub denumirea de Mezquita, a fost construită în 785 de un emir musulman, respectând planurile unui arhitect sirian.
Este considerată una dintre cele mai frumoase exemple de artă islamică din Spania. Are peste 850 de coloane și arcade din granit colorate în roșu și alb.
După Reconquista (Recucerirea), în centrul ei a fost ridicată o catedrală. De aici și denumirea de moschee-catedrală.
Aceasta este unul dintre cele mai impresionante monumente pe care am avut ocazia să le văd, atmosfera de acolo fiind cu adevărat specială. O să-ți placă!

The mosque-cathedral of Córdoba, also known as the Mezquita, was built in 785 by a Muslim emir, following the plans of a Syrian architect.
It is considered one of the most beautiful examples of Islamic art in Spain. It has over 850 columns and arches, made of granite, colored in red and white.
After the Reconquista, a cathedral was built in its center. Hence the name mosque-cathedral.
This is one of the most impressive monuments I have had the opportunity to see, the atmosphere there is really special. You will like it!
RO: Ce să nu ratezi în Córdoba, Spania: Poarta Podului și Podul Roman
Fascinați de moscheea-catedrală am pierdut noțiunea timpului. Așa că nu ne-a prea rămas mult timp să explorăm orașul.
Totuși, am dat o fugă până la Poarta Podului, situată chiar vizavi de podul roman din Córdoba. A fost construită în secolul al XVI-lea pe locul vechilor porți romane și maure.
Podul Roman a fost construit peste râul Guadalquivir în secolul I î.Hr. și a fost singurul pod din oraș timp de aproape 20 de secole, precum și principalul drum de acces către Córdoba.

Fascinated by the mosque-cathedral, we lost track of time. So we didn’t have much time left to explore the city.
However, we ran to the Bridge Gate, located right across from the Roman bridge in Córdoba. It was built in the 16th century on the site of the old Roman and Moorish gates.
The Roman Bridge was built over the Guadalquivir River in the 1st century BC, it was the only bridge in the city for almost 20 centuries and the main access road to Córdoba.
RO: Ce să nu ratezi în Córdoba, Spania: Callejón de las Flores
După ce am vizitat Podul Roman, ne-am îndreptat spre cea mai fotografiată stradă din Córdoba. Este o alee foarte îngustă, pietruită, amplasată între case văruite în alb. Pereții caselor sunt decorate cu flori în ghivece de teracotă, în culori vii caracteristice, cum ar fi mușcatele roz strălucitor, violet și roșu.
La capătul aleii, se vede perfect turnul Mezquita, încadrat între pereți albi și flori în ghivece albastre. O imagine demnă de o carte poștală!
Dacă ai mai mult timp la dispoziție, îți recomand să nu ratezi Alcazarul Monarhilor Creștini, Palatul Viana și Piața Corredera.

After visiting the Roman Bridge, we headed to the most photographed street in Córdoba. It is a very narrow, cobbled lane, set between whitewashed houses. The walls of the houses are decorated with flowers in terracotta pots in characteristic bright colors such as bright pink, purple, and red geraniums.
At the end of the alley, the Mezquita tower is perfectly visible, framed between white walls and flowers in blue pots. A picture worthy of a postcard!
If you have more time, I recommend you don’t miss the Alcazar of the Christian Monarchs, the Viana Palace, and Corredera Square.
